Our health and safety policy is to:

  • prevent accidents and cases of work related ill-health

  • manage risks to health and safety in our workplace

  • provide appropriate PPE

  • provide and maintain a safe working environment

  • ensure safe handling of substances

  • implement emergency producedures

  • regularly review and update this policy

    To ensure health and safety standards are maintained/improved, the following people have responsibility in the following areas: 

Poppy Soetens-Hall - risk assessments, first aid, monitoring, accidents, safety

Man Lam Sin - fire safety and evacuation, maintaining equipment, proper use of equipment and training, emergency procedures

All employees should: 

• cooperate with supervisors and managers on health and safety matters; 

• take reasonable care of their own health and safety; and 

• report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person (as detailed above).

Risk Assessments

  • Risk assessments will be completed for each location and new activity conducted and will be regularly assessed and updated where necessary.

  • Risk will be monitored for change in conditions or environment.

Training

  • All staff and volunteers working with Broad Bikez on activities will be given health and safety briefings, educated on procedures, and provided a copy of the risk assessment.

  • Participants in activities will be made aware of health and safety procedures and told who to speak to in case of a health and safety incident.

  • First aid supplies will be provided and monitored 

  • Staff will be provided with personal protective equipment where required 

Evacuation

  • Evacuation routes will be kept clear at all times

  • Participants will be informed about fire evacuation policies in each location
