Meet BBz team

  • Anna T.

    Co-founder

Anna saw Eve post on Facebook about starting a bike service centred around women and the LGBTQ+ community, got excited, they exchanged some messages, and BAM!

Anna has been in Hackney for 3 years, after living in Russia and NZ, and has never felt more at home. She used to be kinda terrfied of the idea of cycling, but truly fell in love with it in London. Her favorite things about cycling are the empowerment, joy and freedom it brings. Best way to explore London! She hopes to help others in the local community get access to these benefits and get more confident with bikes.

When not scheming with BBz, Anna manages Studio Lutalica (@studiolutalica), a design studio for feminists and queers, run by feminists and queers <3

  • Eve L.

    Co-founder

Eve is the OG member of the team back when the team was just one. She was working at a bike shop in Stoke newington, it was eating her alive each day. Working in a hostile environment in a male-dominated world was exhausting Eve’s soul. Customers would prefer a male mechanic to fix their bike which made Eve doubt her ability; colleagues would give out sexist/ homophobic comments to women & LGBTQ+ customers which makes Eve very sad. Therefore, she decided to quit her job and start Broad Bikez, providing bike services for her community.

Eve is also a jeweller💎💍, she works with repurposing found objects and turn trash into gems thru her hand🤲🏼✋🏽, go check out her jewellery @evelam.xyz

  • Poppy SH.

    Co-founder

Poppy had been looking for initatives to get involved in, which combined outdoors education and building inclusive spaces. So, it was lucky she met Eve and Anna and could help grow the Broad Bikez idea into reality!

Poppy's a lover of all things adventure, bikepacking, bouldering, hiking and foraging.
An East London resident for 5 years after moving between the Middle East and New Zealand where she worked with NGOs, social enterprises and activists in different capacities, Poppy now manages the community cycle club and training programmes for Cycling UK.

Alway keen to hear about the best places to go on two wheels and hunting the wildest camping spot, find her at the Broad Bikez pop-ups for a chat.

We're looking for volunteers to help with:
